Would You Like To Write For Fuerteventura Information?

We need someone (or better still a couple) based in Fuerteventura to take responsibility for Fuerteventura Information. Our main site Lanzarote Information has grown to such an extent that we have more than enough work to do to keep up with the content and look after our many advertisers.

We're open to suggestions about how it might work - the key is that you're passionate about your island and want to build a long term career or business out of writing about it.

Welcome to Fuerteventura Information!

This is a sister site to Lanzarote Information which was founded back in 2008. Now one of the largest English language websites about Lanzarote, during 2011 we felt it was time that we expanded to cover the neighbouring Canary Island of Fuerteventura.

You can expect to find lots of information about the island of Fuerteventura. We intend to cover what's on, where to go, what to do to, news and much more. The website is aimed to help both people planning holidays but also for residents too so that www.fuerteventurainformation.com is for anything and everything to do with Fuerteventura.

Ruta de la Tapa in La Oliva, Fuerteventura

The "Ruta de la Tapa" or tapas' route taking place every Friday in the municipality of La Oliva. It's an initiative by the Commerce Council of the Townhall of La Oliva to dynamise the area and promote its gastronomy.

Basically, for €2,50 you get a tapa, cold or hot, and a drink: beer, wine, water or soft drink. Not bad, eh? Then, if you wish, you get it stamped on your voting card. To enter the prize draw you must fill at least 40% of the card, that means you should try 20 different tapas. The amount of required tastings has been reduced this year given the numerous amount of establishments taking part.

At the end of it, a professional jury's opinion and your votes will be tallied to nominate the winner of the Cold and Hot Tapa of the year.

We just have found out about this event but it has already been going on since the beginning of April. Don't worry, it's not to late to join in as it doesn't finish until the 5th of July, which leaves you with the challenge of eating 2 tapas every Friday Night for the next 10 weeks in a total of 10 different places. Do you think you can manage that?

Also, to make it even more interesting, there are a number of great prizes to be drawn among the voters:
